Every movie and series leaving Netflix next week: August 2026

Relax, people, because if you were expecting another brutal Netflix clear-out, good news: this is not that week. Lucky for you, next week’s emigrants are fairly tame, which means you can either focus on the new shows or maybe find your pick in this list, which you believe might be worth catching up on.

First in the line, we have Boy Erased, leaving on August 17th, and this can be considered one of the good watches. Lucas Hedges plays the son of conservative Christian parents who is sent to a gay conversion therapy programme after being outed. Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe play his parents, while Joel Edgerton directs. Not exactly Friday-night comfort viewing, but we have to say, some really strong performances here.

Then August 19th brings, nay, removes Fall, which is a terrible choice if heights already make you feel a bit queasy. Two women climb a 2,000-foot radio tower and end up stranded at the top. That is basically the whole nightmare. Aubrey Plaza’s zombie comedy Life After Beth also leaves on the same day, so the mood swings from vertigo to undead-relationship mess.

International film fans lose a few titles on August 19th. Carancho, Crane World, and Elefante Blanco are all saying tata. Carancho is a crime drama, while Elefante blanco follows priests working in a Buenos Aires slum. So yes, there is some substance in next week’s exit pile after all.

Series viewers, meanwhile, have got off lightly. Kongsuni and Friends loses seasons one and two on August 18th, while Titans: The Rise of Wall Street bids adieu on August 19th. No giant prestige drama getting yanked away.

The biggest action title leaving is The 355 on August 21st. We have Jessica Chastain in the lead and Lupita Nyong’o, Penélope Cruz and Diane Kruger alongside her as agents working the same mission after a dangerous weapon changes hands. The film wasn’t exactly acclaimed by the critics, but that cast is still enough to make you look twice.

Finally, August 22nd takes Bordertown and Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am. So no, the next week is not for dramatic farewells. But if Boy Erased, Fall, or The 355 has been gathering dust in your queue, consider this Netflix giving you one last tap on the shoulder.
