Every movie and series leaving Netflix next week: September-October 2026
Next week brings us to the end of September, which is usually when Netflix goes easy on removals and lets the month wind down without much bloodshed. The trouble is, next week also brings the first of October, the dreaded date of every month when Netflix turns into a slayer and starts killing everything in its path.
Although there are a few casualties before the first. Military Wives and Montana Story leave on September 26th, while Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards follows a day later. The anime drama Forest of Piano loses both seasons on September 28th, and if you rush, you can still catch up on both.
September 30th is taking away Alice, Checkpoint / As Though Nothing Happened and One of Them Days, and that wraps up the important departures of September.
And then comes the D-Day: October 1st. Ssst, Netflix is going headstrong into this one with classics like Fargo, Gone Girl, Nomadland, The Witch, Apollo 13, Clueless and Spider-Man: Homecoming all heading out in one sweep.
If you have unforgivably somehow skipped Fargo, now would be a very good time to fix that. The Coen brothers’ crime classic follows a desperate car salesman whose kidnapping scheme goes wrong, while Frances McDormand’s Marge Gunderson enters the picture. Mind you, she earned an Oscar for that role in case it takes a heavy award sticker to lure you in.
Gone Girl is a major loss, and Netflix seems to have a strange relationship with this one. If you have paid attention, the platform keeps bringing it back from time to time, so let’s hope this isn’t a permanent removal.
The television side is not sparing us either. Both seasons of Halo leave on October 1st, alongside Seasons 18 and 19 of NCIS, all five seasons of The Parkers, Django and A Love So Beautiful. So yes, binge plans may need some rearranging.
October 2nd removes The Wandering Earth and The Wretched, while October 3rd takes Sing, Upcoming Summer and all six seasons of Dawson’s Creek. Then October 4th is swinging the axe for Kuro Mukuro, Ágora, Remember You and Sanitation Day.
And that still barely scratches the surface. Blue Is the Warmest Color, A League of Their Own, The Fifth Element, Ghostbusters and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory are also leaving, which makes this one of the most painful departure lists of the year. Process it quickly and rush before your favourites disappear.
