Every movie and series coming to Netflix this week: October 2026

Netflix gave October a hell of an opening act with East of Eden last week, and following a release that big was never going to be easy. You do not drop a blockbuster event and then saunter into the next week as if everybody is maintaining that high, but Netflix does seem to have a plan: rather than trying to manufacture another giant moment straight away, it is spreading its bets across the entire next week with some intriguing releases you might want to set reminders for.

October 5th starts on solid ground with The Boogeyman, the Stephen King adaptation starring Sophie Thatcher and Chris Messina, and though it isn’t a new release, you’ve got to make sure to catch up on it. We have a grieving family here, dealing with something in the dark that feeds on trauma.

Next in line is Lorne, which wanders into a totally different territory with a documentary about Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, while Mayor of Kingstown brings multiple seasons of Jeremy Renner getting dragged through a town built around prisons and corruption.

Then October 6th gives All American fans the final season, which feels like a fairly big deal after eight seasons of football and relationship mess. Ahh, and make sure you don’t miss this Victorian-vampire romance. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies also joins the catalogue, and yes, it is exactly what the title promises, with Jane Austen’s world attacked by the undead. Literature purists may want to avert their eyes.

October 7th has one of the week’s stranger comedies in I Love My Dad, where Patton Oswalt plays a father who creates a fake online profile to catfish his own son because he wants to reconnect with him. What could go wrong? Pretty much everything.

October 8th is much simpler because Below is the one to watch, a six-part supernatural thriller starring Josh Hartnett and centred on a coastal town terrorised by something lurking in the water. Finally, a horror watch for October!

October 9th is when Netflix starts showing off. Animals is releasing with Ben Affleck and Gillian Anderson playing a couple pushed to the brink after their son is kidnapped. Lucky, meanwhile, gives Harry Dean Stanton one of his finest late-career roles as a 90-year-old atheist staring mortality in the face.

October 10th closes the week with Save Yourselves!, where a Brooklyn couple disconnects from technology at the exact moment an alien invasion begins. And that’s all, nay, plenty for this week.
