Every film and series leaving Netflix this week: September 2024

As summer steadily winds down and the shorter days creep closer and closer, it’s worth keeping an eye out for what is leaving Netflix so you can ensure you watch it before it leaves the streaming site for good. Far too often, we put off watching something, only for that rainy day to come along, and we notice our window of opportunity has closed.

Many beloved series and films will be leaving Netflix as the streaming platform clears out its shelves and makes way for some fresh new additions in time for winter. It’s always a shame to see titles disappear, but it’s necessary for Netflix to keep things fresh.

It’s a particularly bad month for horror fans as a few scary films are taken off the platform. Amongst them are Bodies Bodies Bodies and the modern classic, The Conjuring. Not only is The Conjuring considered an excellent movie by horror fans, but it has also paved the way for many other contemporary releases such as The Nun, Annabelle, and The Conjuring sequels.

The Back to the Future trilogy will also be removed from the streaming service. There seems to be a huge pining for nostalgia recently, likely due to the number of remakes and sequels we are privy to these days. As a result, when Back to the Future was initially put on Netflix, it was met with the excitement of adventure and sci-fi fans worldwide. It doesn’t feel like it has been on Netflix long before being taken away again.

The complete series of Jane The Virgin will also be removed from Netflix. The first series was released in April 2015, and it captured the imagination of viewers across the world. The show’s creator, Jennie Snyder Urman, made the creative decision to cancel the show after five seasons, and it concluded in 2019. Since then, it has been available on Netflix and continues to garner new viewers. Unfortunately, it won’t be available on Netflix for too much longer.

Other shows and movies that will depart after a good run on the streaming giant include Crazy Ex-Girlfriends, iZombie, A Million Way to Die in the West, Clerks, Big Fat Liar, and Conon the Barbarian.
