Every film and series leaving Netflix this week: September 2023

Netflix is once again reshuffling its digital library, bidding farewell to a few more titles this week as they make way for newer shows and films.

This week, the departures are not too many. There are very few names you will miss. Just in case, always take a look at our list of every series and film leaving in September 2023 to catch everything before they go.

On September 18th, Residue takes its final bow. The drama explored the gentrification of a Washington, DC, neighbourhood and the lasting emotional marks it leaves behind. Directed by Merawi Gerima, this one offered poignant reflections on urban change.

Also departing on this day is Tayo and Little Wizards season one, the animated series that has been a source of entertainment and joy for kids and families alike.

September 21st brings a trio of farewells. High & Low: The Red Rain, a Japanese action film with gang dynamics and intense battles, is the first one. How High 2, the stoner comedy, is next in line. And next, we have Jiu Jitsu starring Nicolas Cage, where sci-fi meets the world of martial arts. The official blurb of the film reads, “Every six years, an ancient order of jiu-jitsu fighters joins forces to battle a vicious race of alien invaders. But when a celebrated war hero goes down in defeat, the fate of the planet and mankind hangs in the balance.”

Finally, on September 23rd, we bid adieu to In Darkness. This thriller, directed by Anthony Byrne and written by Byrne and Natalie Dormer, features the Game of Thrones and Hunger Games star as a blind pianist entangled in a mysterious murder plot.
