As March swiftly progresses, Netflix bids farewell to a selection of films and series, making room for new additions to its ever-expanding library.
One notable departure is Carol, a film directed by Todd Haynes and based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Price of Salt. Set in the 1950s, the movie follows the forbidden love affair between Carol Aird (Cate Blanchett), an older woman trapped in a loveless marriage, and Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara), a young aspiring photographer, as their romance unfolds against the backdrop of societal expectations and prejudices.
Another departure is The Legend of Tarzan, an adventure film directed by David Yates. This modern retelling of the classic tale sees Tarzan, played by Alexander Skarsgård, living a civilised life in London as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke. However, he is drawn back to his jungle home when he is invited to investigate the activities at a mining encampment. The film also stars Margot Robbie as Jane Porter.
Additionally, My Little Pony: The Movie leaves the platform as well, which might be a bummer for the young (and young at heart). The film follows Twilight Sparkle and her friends as they set on a quest to save their home of Equestria from a dark force threatening to destroy it.
The other titles leaving the platform include the documentary Reframe THEATER EXPERIENCE with You, a high-tech concert film that captures the essence of Japanese pop group Perfume’s Reframe 2019 concert. The K-drama The Cursed, the horror mystery film Woodshock, and the Japanese drama Any Crybabies Around? will bid farewell as well.
