Every film and series leaving Netflix this week: August 2024
Every week, Netflix adds new movies and television shows for subscribers to enjoy, but to do so, they have to remove a few pre-existing titles. August has seen the platform get rid of some popular movies so far, such as Easy A, The Matrix series, and Shrek.
This week, Netflix subscribers in the United Kingdom will lose a hefty amount of titles as the platform is seemingly undergoing a significant purge. Meanwhile the United States is only losing a small handful.
If you’ve yet to watch one of Christopher Nolan’s earlier films, Memento, you have until August 13th to watch the movie if you’re based in the UK. The 2000 film helped to introduce Nolan to a wider audience, and it won a string of awards, as well as earning two Oscar nominations.
If you’re more into romantic comedies, both Dear John and Monte Carlo will leave Netflix on August 15th. The following day, all three Pitch Perfect movies will be taken off the site, too.
August 16th will see the most removals, with some hugely popular movies expiring on the site. From Gladiator to Jackass Forever, Ted 2, Madagascar, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, users will have to cram in as many films as possible before they’re no longer easily available to stream.
Over in the United States, users might be sad to discover that everyone’s favourite bear, Paddington, will no longer be available to stream on the service from August 14th. The beloved furry creature, voiced by Ben Whishaw, remains popular with both adults and children, but fans will now have to look elsewhere to get their fix.
