Every film and series leaving Netflix this week: August 2024

The beauty of Netflix lies in its revolving door of fresh titles, meaning there’s always something new and exciting to watch. However, this often means that the streamer has to remove other titles to make room. In other instances, the licensing for certain television shows and movies simply runs out, leaving Netflix no choice but to delete them from the platform.

This week, the streaming service isn’t removing as many titles as last week, when Netflix purged both the UK and US versions of the streamer of lots of popular movies and shows, including Easy A, Fatal Attraction, Groundhog Day, The Matrix, Shrek, and The Theory of Everything.

Between August 5th and 11th, they will remove considerably less, beginning with the poorly-rated thriller Forgiven on UK and US Netflix. US audiences will also no longer be able to watch The Re-Education of Molly Singer, another movie with poor reviews.

In the UK, August 6th will be the last day you can catch the Oscar-winning biographical drama King Richard, which stars Will Smith as Serena and Venus Williams’ dad. The film was highly lauded when it was released in 2021, but its time on Netflix is now coming to an end.

The Indian epics Bahubali: The Beginning and its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion will be removed on August 7th in both the UK and the US. The movies were hugely successful in their native country, with the latter remaining India’s highest-grossing movie of all time. The same day will also see Netflix say goodbye to the classic American comedy The Devil Wears Prada.

UK viewers only have a few days left to catch the thriller series Our House, which only contains four episodes, which seems more than doable for an after-work Netflix binge. If you’d rather just watch a movie, the thriller The Outfit, starring Mark Rylance, leaves on August 11th. That same day, a horror flick featuring Elizabeth Banks, Brightburn, will also be removed from the platform.
