While each departure leaves a void in our watchlists, there is one title that stands out among the rest—Dunkirk.
On August 13th, Dunkirk will be leaving Netflix. Directed by Christopher Nolan, this 2017 historical war epic takes us back to one of the most significant events of World War II: the Dunkirk evacuation. The film masterfully weaves together three parallel storylines, showcasing the harrowing experiences of soldiers stranded on the beaches of Dunkirk, the daring rescue mission of civilian boats across the English Channel, and the efforts of Royal Air Force pilots engaging in dogfights to protect the evacuation. On August 9th, the Chinese romantic drama Pretty Man (2018) makes its exit. On August 11th, the historical K-drama series The Crowned Clown leaves. Set in the Joseon era of Korean history, the series revolves around a commoner who becomes the stand-in for a king facing threats to his life.
