Every film and series leaving Netflix in July 2023

A ton of critically and commercially successful films and series are leaving Netflix this July. Brace yourself as the streaming giant clears its shelves, making way for new arrivals.

Among the departing classics is American Gangster (2007), a gripping crime drama featuring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, based on the true story of drug lord Frank Lucas and the detective determined to bring him down.

Making us laugh out loud one last time on Netflix, at least for now, is the iconic spy spoof trilogy Austin Powers (1997-2002), starring the hilarious Mike Myers as the shagadelic British secret agent.

Controversial comic Dave Chappelle’s sketch show’s first and second seasons of Chappelle’s Show will also be departing from the platform.

For those seeking intense suspense, there is another Denzel Washington film leaving July, Inside Man (2006), directed by Spike Lee and featuring Washington and Clive Owen. The chilling thriller Psycho (1960), directed by Alfred Hitchcock, will make your spine-tingle one last time too with the tale of disturbed motel owner Norman Bates.

How to Train Your Dragon (2010), a heartwarming tale of a young Viking and his newfound friendship with a misunderstood dragon departs as well. And don’t forget to bid farewell to the grouchy ogre in Shrek Forever After (2010), as he embarks on his final fairy tale journey.

As the month progresses, more favourites will vanish, including the action-packed zombie flick World War Z (2013), starring Brad Pitt, and the Oscar-winning crime drama The Departed (2006), directed by Martin Scorsese and featuring a star-studded cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson.
