Every film and series leaving Netflix this week: April 2024

As April gives way to an exciting May, Netflix will bid adieu to a plethora of beloved films and series, making room for new adventures and stories. From heartwarming classics to adrenaline-pumping blockbusters, there’s something for everyone to cherish before they depart.

Kicking off the farewell tour on April 29th, viewers will have to say goodbye to Hong Kong West Side Stories, but it is from April 30th onwards that more titles start departing. From Awakenings and The Skeleton Key to Sinister, horror aficionados will be left longing for their spine-tingling thrills. Fans of family-friendly fare will have to find new fare to keep the young ones entertained as titles like Baby Geniuses and Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures leave. Action enthusiasts will also have to say goodbye to films like 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and Gods of Egypt.

May 1st brings a wave of farewells, with beloved series like Octonauts, Medici: Masters of Florence, and Angelina Ballerina taking their final curtain call. Meanwhile, a host of acclaimed films, including Silver Linings Playbook, Whiplash, and Apollo 13, will bid farewell too. From Erin Brockovich to the queer-coded Fried Green Tomatoes, Elvis to Beethoven (the canine kind), Jurassic Park to Sixteen Candles — plenty of classic favourites and decade-defining hits will be leaving Netflix on the first of May as well.

May 2nd sees the departure of animated favourites like Despicable Me 3 and The Souvenir. Additionally, Magic Mike’s Last Dance sashays off the platform. May 3rd and 4th bring a mix of comedy specials, thrillers, and family-friendly adventures to their final Netflix screenings. As the calendar turns, Netflix bids adieu to The Secret: Dare to Dream, Arctic Dogs, and The Football Factory on May 4th, closing out the month. And there is more that will be leaving!

So, here’s your last chance to catch these departing films and TV shows before they leave Netflix for good.
