This week on Netflix, there’s a mix of new shows and movies to enjoy. From the Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell rom-com hit Anyone But You to the brand-new detective show with a ghostly twist, Dead Boy Detectives, streaming fans will have plenty to enjoy.
For the little ones, CoComelon Lane returns with more educational adventures. Ahead of the Curve tells the story of Curve magazine’s impact on the lesbian rights movement, while Fern Brady: Autistic Bikini Queen is a comedy special exploring relationships and neurodiversity.
In Brigands: The Quest for Gold, viewers can follow a group of mercenaries on a medieval treasure hunt. Fight for Paradise: Who Can You Trust? dives into modern trust issues, but it isn’t just paradise they are fighting for in this reality TV series. One hundred thousand euros is also up for grabs!
The critically panned but commercial hit Anyone But You is also arriving on the platform this week. The story follows a young couple, played by Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. The official blurb of the film goes like this: Despite having an amazing first date, Bea and Ben’s initial attraction quickly turns sour. When they unexpectedly find themselves at a destination wedding in Australia, the pair pretend to be the perfect couple to keep up appearances.
But that’s not all. King Richard, which recently left the platform, is also making a return. Starring Will Smith, the film portrays the inspiring journey of Venus and Serena Williams under the guidance of their father.
And the biggest and most exciting new release of the week is Dead Boy Detectives. You can now follow the adventure of two teen ghosts working alongside a clairvoyant to solve crimes and other mysteries for their strictly supernatural clientele. But there is a powerful witch who complicates their plans before long.
The Asunta Case is the latest in true crime on Netflix. The series explores the mysterious death of Asunta Basterra Porto. The other fodder in reality this week is Hack Your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut, which uncovers the impact of gut health on our well-being.
