Emily Bader and Logan Lerman to lead Netflix’s ‘13 Going on 30’ reboot

People, it’s time to grab the Razzles because Netflix is dusting off 13 Going on 30, and the new leads are such a cute curveball. Emily Bader and Logan Lerman are fronting the reboot, and come on, don’t pretend rom-com heads and, in this case, all of us, aren’t already kicking our feet under the table.

Brett Haley is directing the reboot, and if you think you’ve heard that name before, he is the same fellow behind People We Meet on Vacation, All the Bright Places and All Together Now. It also gets Haley back with Bader after People We Meet on Vacation, where she played Poppy.

And Haley sounds made up, to be fair. He has called Bader and Lerman a magical pairing, which is a massive shout when Netflix has barely opened the curtains on the plot. Like, go ahead, give everyone a crumb, will you?

Bader, also known for The 99’ers, stars opposite Lerman, whose recent credits include Oh, Hi! and Only Murders in the Building. Their characters are still being kept under wraps, so yes, Netflix has the good stuff locked away.

The supporting cast of 13 Going on 30 is no bag of scraps either. Jessica Alba, Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows and Dan Bucatinsky are all piling in, though their roles are still under wraps.

Jennifer Garner is executive producing the film, and that’s the best part of it. The original Jenna Rink is not just giving the reboot a polite nudge, but she’s actually grafting behind the scenes. That’s some serious seal of approval.

The original 13 Going on 30 starred Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer and became a rom-com must with its time-jump madness and big feelings.

There is still no release date or first look, so the waiting game is on. But with Bader, Lerman and Garner in the mix, this reboot already feels sweet enough to work.
