Canadian singer and rapper Drake has criticised those online speculating about his relationship with actor Millie Bobby Brown, and in a new release, labelled them as “weirdos.”
Many have been talking about the musician following rumours that the two stars are dating. However, the 36-year-old has addressed the busybodies in his new track, ‘Another Late Night’ featuring the Atlanta emcee Lil Yachty.
Facing the haters head-on, the Scorpion artist didn’t hold back as he asserted that it is merely a friendship between the two and even went as far as to call those trying to suggest otherwise “weirdos.”
On the track which will appear on his forthcoming album, For All The Dogs, Drake raps, “My bank account is magnolia / Milly rockin’/Weirdos in my comments talkin’ ’bout some Millie Bobby, look.” He continues, “Bring them jokes up to the gang, we get to really flockin’ / Or send a finger to your mama in some FedEx boxes / Open up that shit, it’s jaw droppin’ / really shockin’ / I ain’t pretty flacko, bitch, this shit get really rocky.”
The speculation has been ongoing for six years ever since the emcee (real name Aubrey Graham) met the actor backstage before he performed in Brisbane, Australia, during his Boy Meets World tour. Brown confirmed to several outlets that the two communicated by text. However, akin to Graham, she ensured the public that they had a platonic love for each other and that there was nothing romantic between the pair.
At the Emmys in 2018, she told a reporter, “We just texted each other the other day, and he was like, ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like, ‘I miss you more. He helps me… He’s great. He’s wonderful. I like him.”
However, like Drake has on his recent track, after the media speculation in 2018, Brown took to Instagram to write, “Why u gotta make a lovey friendship ur headline? U guys are weird… for real!” Graham’s latest single was released via Lyrical Lemonade, and its video was directed by the iconic Cole Benett.
