Dine out at these real-life cafés and restaurants from ‘Emily in Paris’ season 5
You cannot really be part of the Emily in Paris universe with a passport to count on, and in season five on Netflix, that must have really come in handy with Emily Cooper going from Rome to Venice, only to return home to Paris.
In addition to the trail of heartbreaks that left a global imprint on fans, what grabbed the eyes of viewers in season five is the never-ending list of picturesque cafés and restaurants Cooper and Co. tagged along to enjoy espressos or glasses of Sancerre.
So, in case you want to make those Emily in Paris venues your next pitstop for the sweater weather, we’ve got you covered.
Starting in Rome, you can park your Vespa at Zuma Restaurant to relive the breathtaking view of the Spanish Steps in real time, at Palazzo Fendi, Via della Fontanella di Borghese. But if you want to take a trip down memory lane to the spot where Sylvie went on a date with her Roman lover, Osteria del Barberie should be the pinned location on your Google Maps.
While in Rome, you can probably catch up on Antoine swaying Antonia in a lush garden on Hotel de Russie’s back patio. But if you’re planning to track down the Agence Grateau co-workers, you can possibly find them at Settimo restaurant on the rooftop of the Sofitel Hotel in Via Lombardia or bidding goodbye to Rome at Orien Express La Minerva’s rooftop restaurant, Gigi Rigolatto Roma.
Back in Paris, the centre of culinary attention is L’Espirit de Gigi, home to Gabriel, Emily in Paris’s hottest chef. Behind the cameras, the Italian restaurant is actually called Terra Nera. As for the corner at which Emily buys her bread since season one, it’s Boulangerie Moderne in her local square, Place de l’Estrapede. Moving on to the place where Alfie, Emily, and Mindy went for dinner in season five, it’s Lafayette’s.
The pub Emily stops by to get a taste of home on the show, Brass and Bourbon American Pub, is actually an English pub called The Financier. Meanwhile, Mindy can be spotted grabbing a drink on her lap of reconciliation with Nico at Hôtel de Crillon’s bar. Speaking once again of Nico and Mindy, the lovebirds also join Marcello at a chic eatery at La Fontaine Gaillon. But this season, they are not the only ones venturing to these posh hotspots.
Sylvie meets up with an old friend, Yvette, at Le Grande Café at the palatial Grand Palais for lunch. Although when Marcello travelled back to Paris, he was initially joined by Mindy and Nico for a dine out, their second outing had Emily showing up for drinks at a bistro near Canal Saint-Martin, Brasserie de l’Hôtel du Nord. But if you’re not a liquor person, you can always grab an alfresco espresso at Le Jardin de Verre by Locke.
Marcello’s luncheon, which went horribly wrong, took place at Bambini restaurant in the Palais de Tokyo. And Sylvie was found, joining her estranged husband, Laurent, for lunch at 114 Faubourg inside Le Bristol hotel. However, if you want to know about the spot where Emily joins Gabriel for a quick lunch between his trains, Le Train Bleu is where you should be.
Next on the list is Au Rendez-Vous des Amis, a Montmartre brasserie, where Emily and Luc sip on some absinthe. Following this, Sylvie meets her mother for a bomb revelation at a historic restaurant in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood, Les Deux Magots. Agence Grateau also hosts a high-profile launch party at Maxim’s restaurant, a local that was legendary during Paris’s Belle Époque.
Lastly, Emily in Paris touches down in Venice, kicking things off with a lunch between Sylvie and Gabriel at Osteria Alla Frasca, in the Corte de la Carità. Although the scene takes place in the show’s Roman chapter, the restaurant is actually located in Venice.
While Gabriel didn’t really have anything to do with the Venice saga in the series, Emily and Mindy did snag a Venetian gelato at Bar Ai Miracoli for those interested. They also met up with each other quite a few times at the St Regis hotel’s restaurant, Gio’s. Lastly, the romantic dinner date that Marcello takes Emily to takes place at his favourite Venetian restaurant, Moro.
