David Schwimmer confirms the 'Friends' reunion will finally begin filming next week

The long-awaited Friends reunion is set to start filming next week confirmed the show’s iconic actor, David Schwimmer. The actor was appearing on The Graham Norton Show when he confirmed that he would be sitting down in Central Perk sooner than we had hoped.

“We figured out a way to film it safely and there’s going to be a portion of it that we film outside,” Schwimmer had shared in a previous interview a few weeks back. “You know, for safety protocols.” But now ‘Ross’ has confirmed that the filming begins next week.

Friends has experienced several delays thanks to the global pandemic and has seen the actors be frustrated by the process. The original release date of May 2020 has long since been forgotten.

Now we have an excuse to get excited once again as Schwimmer confirmed the filming would begin sooner than expected. “After this, I’m going to Los Angeles,” he said to The Graham Norton Show during a scheduled appearance.

“We’re going to be shooting a Friends reunion next week so I’m hopping on a plane this afternoon. I’m gonna see everyone next week for the first time in many years.”

There is one caveat for fans of the show, the stars won’t be reprising their roles. “I’ll be myself, I’ll be David,” he explained. “There’s nothing scripted. We’re not in character, we’re all ourselves – the real people. Although there is one section of it that – I don’t want to give it away – but we all read something.”
