Daniel Radcliffe enters his fairytale era with Netflix’s ‘Steps’

Daniel Radcliffe is officially entering his fairytale era, and no, this is not a drill. The “chosen one” who spent years fighting dark wizards is now becoming an animated prince in Netflix’s highly anticipated movie Steps. Oh, the range this man has? Absolutely elite.

And wait, because it’s not just him, but the rest of the cast is ridiculously good. Young Mazino is voicing Gef, the heartthrob of the story, while Peter Dinklage will voice Roderick, the muscle.

Now, Steps is not serving the same old Cinderella story we have heard a million times. It flips the script and focuses on the supposedly evil stepsisters. Because let’s be real, maybe those girls were not born villains. Maybe the fairytale kingdom just needed someone to blame.

The story follows Lilith, voiced by Ali Wong, after she is accused of hijacking the Royal Ball with a stolen magic wand. And things go downhill fast because she accidentally turns her sister Margot (voiced by Stephanie Hsu) into a frog.

Meanwhile, the kingdom ends up under the control of a prince-obsessed mean girl. So Lilith has to team up with Cinderella (voiced by Amanda Seyfried) plus a dreamy troll to save everyone and fix the fairy tale mess.

Oh, and Bette Midler is playing the fairy godmother. Yes, the Bette Midler. At this point, the voice cast isn’t just gems… It’s a freaking diamond mine.

Directors Alyce Tzue and John Ripa wanted the prince, played by Daniel Radcliffe, to feel totally different from the usual perfect royal guy. His version is funny and apparently quite lovable, which sounds very Daniel-coded.

At the end of the day, Steps is really about two sisters who feel completely different but eventually realise they have more in common than they thought.

Netflix will release Steps later this year, and this new version is already giving happiness attacks.
