‘City of Shadows’: Everything you need to know about the Spanish thriller
December is not going to be short of thrills on Netflix. If you were only keeping your eyes out for the Stranger Things finale and Emily in Paris, it’s time to add a new entry to the December watchlist, a new gripping Spanish thriller, City of Shadows.
The six-episode thriller will reportedly serve as one of the last shows starring Verónica Echegui.
Directed by Jorge Torregrossa, Spanish studio Arcadia is producing City of Shadows for Netflix. The series was shot across Catalonia and Barcelona. And considering it’s decking up for a December release, it’s safe to assume that it won’t be long before we have the sneak peeks.
So, in case you’re confused about what to wait for next on Netflix, here’s all you need to know about City of Shadows.

But he’s not alone. Joining Malart is Deputy Inspector Rebeca Garrido, and together they must solve the case.
Who is in the cast?
Isak Férriz, known for Netflix projects like Infiesto, Feria: The Darkest Light, and Below Zero, plays Inspector Milo Malart. Meanwhile, the late Verónica Echegui portrays Deputy Inspector Rebecca Garrido. The rest of the cast includes Ana Wagener, Manolo Solo, and Jordi Ballester.
Is there a trailer available?
No. Netflix has yet to release a trailer for City of Shadows.
When does City of Shadows release?
The Spanish thriller is scheduled to be released on Netflix on December 12th, 2025.
