Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington to star in Paul Feig's Netflix film ‘The School for Good and Evil’

Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington have both joined the cast set for Paul Feig’s forthcoming Netflix film, The School of Good and Evil.

The screenplay is an adaptation of the YA fantasy novel by Soman Chainani in which two friends are kidnapped and taken to the School for Good and Evil. Therein, they try to escape and return home with their friendship often tested along the way.

Charlize Theron will take on the role of Lady Lasso, whilst Kerry Washington will be portraying Professor Dovey in the mysterious ‘education facility’ where nothing is quite what it seems.

In a Twitter statement, Feig who has previously produced shows like Freaks and Geeks, announced: “I know what school I’m applying to. So thrilled to welcome Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington to the School for Good and Evil! Everyone, prepare to get schooled!”

Sophie Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie are already in place for the two lead roles of the show.

Filming is set to take place at Belfast Harbour Studios in Northern Ireland with a release date scheduled for Netflix in 2022. With issues surrounding the ongoing pandemic diminishing it is likely that Netflix will hope to have it on their platform sooner rather than later.
