Charlie Sheen is “finally ready to confess” in Netflix’s tell-all documentary, drops trailer

Not everyone in Tinseltown basks in the shimmer of the North Star. Some blaze briefly only to vanish like shooting stars. And then there are the rare few who, even while standing in the spotlight, cast shadows that linger louder than applause. Charlie Sheen is one such name, who’s coming to tell his story to Netflix.

Once wrapped in the gilded glow of success, his Hollywood accent took a sharp turn when his off-screen storms eclipsed his on-screen shine, culminating in his high-profile exit from the iconic Two and a Half Men. And most recently, Netflix just dropped the trailer for his upcoming tell-all documentary, featuring interviews with the actor, his friends and family.

Titled aka Charlie Sheen, this Netflix documentary has interviews with Denise Richards, Heidi Fleiss, Jon Cryer, Sean Penn, Ramon Estevez, Brooke Mueller, Chris Tucker, and Sheen’s former dealer. Interestingly, Chuck Lorre, the executive producer of the CBS sitcom, who received many such public attacks from Sheen, also appears in the Netflix project.

The official description of the documentary reads, “Tabloid black hole Charlie Sheen knows what’s been said about him, and he’s finally ready to confess.” Sheen doesn’t hold back in the documentary. He reveals that he had only planned on sharing these things with a therapist. But here he is. Then again, the interviewed personas are equally unhinged.

In the trailer, Cryer recalls, “[Sheen] kept saying, ‘I’m in the hospital now, but next week I’ll be ready for the show.’” Meanwhile, his drug dealer adds, “When Charlie says he was smoking seven-gram rocks, he was smoking seven-gram rocks.” aka Charlie Sheen examines the actor’s upbringing in Malibu, his showbiz rise, and his dramatic meltdown.

“With a stunning clarity earned through seven years of sobriety, Sheen openly speaks about the subjects and events he’s never discussed publicly before,” the official description reads. Andrew Renzi has directed the two-part documentary.

Slated for a September 10th release on Netflix, Skydance, North of Now, Boardwalk Pictures, and Atlas Independent are the production companies behind the film. Charles Roven, Nick Boak, Madison Weireter, Jesse Sisgold, Jon Weinbach, Jordan Wynn, Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, and Talin P Middleton serve as producers. Richard Lichter, Toby Emmerich, Michael Minahan, and Vivian Johnson Rogowski executive produce.
