Charlie Covell shares plans for ‘Kaos’ following surprise series cliff hanger

Kaos creator Charlie Covell has revealed future plans for the show following a surprise cliffhanger that left fans eager to learn more about what will happen next.

The show presents a mythological version of reality in which Zeus, played by Jeff Goldblum, is the King and expects complete obedience from humans. However, a shocking unfolding on Olympia Day urges him to face what could threaten to dismantle his position.

Covell, who previously worked on Channel 4’s End of the F***ing World, recently revealed plans for the future of the show after the season one finale left fans gobsmacked. He explained: “The idea is three seasons in total. So, that’s what I have kind of in my brain… I would love to do more.”

However, unlike other creators, who begin work on the following episodes and seasons prior to being picked up by the original network, Covell is awaiting confirmation from Netflix before he officially gets to work. Still, Covell maintains he has a “clear” idea of where the show is destined to go.

“There’s lots of things forming. I’ve got an idea of what the plot is,” Covell told Radio Times. Although there is currently “no script”, he states “the main story is clear in my head” and that he has “fevered documents and stuff that only I would probably understand at this point.”

Alongside Goldblum, Kaos boasts an intriguing roster, including Scoop star Billie Piper, Killian Scott, Nabhaan Rizwan, Janet McTeer, and more. Since its release on August 29th, fans and critics have praised its exploration of human interconnectedness and the subtlety with which it delivers masterful black comedy.

It is also satisfyingly action-packed and effortlessly repackages Greek mythological characters for the modern audience. Although some regard it as too ambitious to resonate fully, many continue to celebrate its tongue-in-cheek execution and potential signified by the surprising final episode.

Although the streaming giant hasn’t confirmed a season two yet, it’s likely safe to say that nothing will stop it from feeding the excitement for a little longer.
