The cast for ‘Stranger Things’ play has been revealed

The cast for the major new stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, based on Netflix’s wildly popular science fiction television show, has now been announced, continuing the spin-offs that have come out of the main series.

The play with open in London in a few months’ time and is decade a couple of decades before the 1980s time of the show. It will follow the likes of Jim Hopper, Joyce Byers (known as Joyce Maldonaldo then) and Henry Creel.

Creel goes on to become the show’s villain, Vecna, and was high school friends with Hopper and Joyce. Oscar Lloyd will be playing Hopper in the new play while Isabella Pappas will play Joyce, being joined by Bob Newby, who will play Christopher Buckley.

The play will also feature Tricia Adele-Turner, Lauren Arney, Reya-Nyomi Brown, Patricia Castro, Lydia Fraser, Isaac Gryn, Mark Hammersley, Tom Peters, Kingdom Sibanda, Tiana Simone and Danny Sykes.

In a statement, the Stranger Things creators, the Duffer Brothers, said, “The cast of Stranger Things: The First Shadow is nothing short of phenomenal. These actors brilliantly explore the early days of many fan favorites – including Hopper, Joyce, Bob, Henry and Dr Brenner – while also bringing new characters to vivid life.”

The writing duo added, “We couldn’t be more thrilled and can’t wait for you to meet them all live on stage. See you in London, nerds!”

Stranger Things: The First Shadow will open at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End on December 14th.
