Cancelled 'Warrior Nun' series to return as film trilogy

The Warrior Nun Netflix TV show that was cancelled after two seasons has had its future revived after its fans protested against its end. The show will now return as a trilogy of movies, according to its producer.

Dean English, the executive producer of Warrior Nun, recently wrote on social media explaining that Netflix had agreed to make three films based on Benn Dunn’s comic book character Warrior Nun Areala.

“I need to start by thanking all of you loyal fans,” English wrote. “It’s because of you and your incredible energy that we keep pushing forward to make these stories. You guys really make it all worthwhile. So thank you so much for your continued support.”

The producer then confirmed the trio of movies that will arrive on Netflix in the future. “I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures,” he said. “Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.”

With the writers’ and actors’ strikes taking place in Hollywood, English couldn’t give away too many details surrounding the films, but he tried to hype up the trilogy anyway, getting Warrior Nun fans excited for what lies ahead.

“Some may ask, ‘Does this perhaps infer that there’s going to be a universe being launched of Warrior Nun, which could expand into films and TV series following characters that we already know?'” English said. “The answer to that question is yes. And there will be more details in the future.”
