Cameron Diaz is returning to Netflix with ‘Bad Day’

The streaming era may have made starry occurrences a regularity. But prepare to get star-struck all the way as one of the Charlie’s Angels, Cameron Diaz, is about to touch down on Netflix with a brand-new action-comedy, Bad Day.

According to Tudum, Jake Szymanski is attached to the upcoming film, and Beau Bauman is producing for Good One Productions.

Mark Moran is executive producing Bad Day, with Laura Solon writing as well as executive producing the film. The forthcoming Netflix venture will mark a reunion for Diaz and Bauman, who previously collaborated on Back in Action, which landed sixth on Netflix’s most popular list following seven weeks on the global top ten English movies chart.

Additionally, Bad Day will serve as the third collaboration for Bauman and Solon, who previously joined forces on Let It Snow and Office Christmas Party. Production has already kicked off in New Jersey, and more details will be revealed over time.

But for now, for those uninitiated, Bad Day is an action-comedy flick starring Diaz as a single mom struggling to stay true to one little promise to her daughter on what looks like undoubtedly the worst day of her life. Considering action-comedies were always her thing, it makes sense that the excitement will visibly go through the roof for this one. While Netflix hasn’t unveiled a release window for the movie, it has revealed the rest of the star-studded names helming it.

Sam Richardson, best known for his work in Ted Lasso, Ben Schwartz from Sonic the Hedgehog, K Callan from Knives Out, Ayden Mayeri from Jackpot!, Mark Duplass from The Morning Show, Rob Corddry from The Audacity, and Ed O’Neill from Modern Family have joined Bad Day.

Also attached to the series are Danielle Brooks from Minecraft, John Higgins from Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain, Rhenzy Feliz from The Penguin, Jessica Belkin from The Hunting Wives, and Emma Pearson from FBI: Most Wanted. Although the streamer hasn’t given away a lot, the details so far are enough proof that Bad Day is going to be a one-of-a-kind comedic punchfest. So, stay tuned for further updates while Netflix gets its action ducks in a row for what’s about to become a highly anticipated starry trip.
