‘Blue Eye Samurai’ Season 2 takes Mizu’s revenge to London

Mizu is officially taking her revenge mission beyond Japan, and London, mate, you might want to brace yourself. Netflix has confirmed that Blue Eye Samurai season two is releasing in January 2027, with the new teaser showing Mizu carrying on the hunt overseas as she tracks down the two remaining men who might be her father. Are you surprised, or are you worried?

Actually, if you are getting a little worried about her, that’s completely natural because she is being dragged right out of her world and is going to get dropped into Western culture with a sword in her hand. Might make a few fans’ blood run cold.

If season one’s gone a bit fuzzy in the old memory, here’s the gist. Mizu spent most of it hunting down the four white men who were in Japan around the time she was born, convinced one of them was her father and therefore the reason she grew up treated as an outsider because of her blue eyes.

Then there is Abijah Fowler, a ruthless Irish arms dealer whom Mizu spends much of season one hunting, believing he could be one of the white men connected to her birth. She very nearly finished off Abijah Fowler, but let him live after discovering he knew where the last two men on her list were hiding.

And where are they? Obviously London. So no, it wasn’t Mizu’s softness keeping Fowler alive… She had a motive. Take that idea with a pinch of salt. The annoying part is that she still needs him.

Season two carries on from there, with Maya Erskine back as Mizu, Brenda Song returning as Akemi, Darren Barnet as Taigen and Masi Oka as Ringo. Mizu’s off to London, where Netflix says she will run into new allies and old enemies. And apparently, the woman hasn’t got enough on her plate already; she’ll meet her own demons as well.

Meanwhile, back in Japan, Akemi and Taigen are dealing with Edo Castle under a dangerous new shogun, while Ringo’s trying to work out what on earth he’s meant to do next.

And there is one more rather important detail: Mizu’s revenge story now has an end date. Netflix has confirmed that Blue Eye Samurai will wrap up with season three in 2028, so this whole London business isn’t to be taken lightly. It’s part of the final stretch towards whatever endgame Mizu’s got waiting for her.

So, giddy up, London; Mizu is coming for you!
