Blackpink’s Lisa reunites with ‘The White Lotus’ producer for ‘Notting Hill’-inspired rom-com

Blackpink’s Lisa is gearing up to woo the world with her acting chops once again as the Thai rapper reunites with The White Lotus executive producer David Bernad for a new romantic comedy inspired by the classics of the genre for Netflix.

According to an exclusive Deadline report, coming off her acting debut in the third season of the hit HBO MAX series, Lisa, AKA Lalisa Manobal, is now all set to reteam with Bernad for a rom-com penned by Set It Up’s Katie Silberman.

Although the official logline remains shrouded in mystery, sources close to the project shared that Bernard and Lisa developed the crux on the set of The White Lotus after connecting over their mutual appreciation and love for the 1999 rom-com starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, Notting Hill. Not long after, they roped in Silberman, the comedy writer behind Booksmart and Set It Up, for writing the script.

Bernad will produce the still-untitled feature via his Middle Child Productions banner, along with Silberman, who is currently bound by an exclusive, multi-year creative deal with Netflix. Alice Kang and Lisa will serve as executive producers for the show.

The news comes amid Lisa’s work on her major movie role in TYGO, a new chapter of the Extraction universe, which also marks her first major action role. The action thriller follows Tygo, an ex-child soldier-turned-mercenary, in pursuit of vengeance against Korea’s underworld following a mission gone wrong.

In a conversation with Netflix, Lisa expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “I’m so honoured to be part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors. Being in an action film has always been a dream of mine, and for my first movie role to be in such an exciting action film is a dream come true.”

While Lisa now has not one but two Netflix projects coming our way, she previously appeared on the streamer’s 2025 reality series, Hitmakers. Moreover, in 2020, her group’s documentary, Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, also premiered on Netflix.

Lisa rose to fame as a member of South Korea’s Blackpink and eventually made her solo debut in 2021 with the single album ‘Lalisa.’ In addition to releasing her debut studio album, ‘Alter Ego,’ last year, the singer made her Coachella debut in 2025, on the heels of her on-screen debut in The White Lotus season three, where she portrayed Mook.

Although the details on her rom-com feature remain under wraps, stay tuned for more updates in the future.
