Another relative of Jeffrey Dahmer victim hits out at Netflix

Tatiana Banks, the daughter of one of Jeffrey Dahmer‘s victims, has told reporters that she “hasn’t been able to sleep” since the release of the Netflix series about the life of the serial killer.

Speaking to Insider, Banks, whose father was 19-year-old Errol Lindsey, stated, “Honestly ever since that show’s been on I haven’t been able to sleep…I see Jeffrey Dahmer in my sleep”. Her strong words against the show by Ryan Murphy, named Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, come amid a wave of similar reports that criticise the Netflix series for sensationalising and glamourising events.

Watching just one “heartbreaking” episode of the series, Banks was frustrated that she was never contacted about the series before it aired on the streaming service.

“I feel like they should have reached out because it’s people who are actually still grieving from that situation,” Banks adds, explaining, “That chapter of my life was closed and they reopened it, basically”.

Her criticisms are not isolated either, with the mother of one of the victims also stating that the ten-episode series was inaccurate, explaining that her son’s death “didn’t happen like that”. Furious at the streaming service, she explains the difficulty of talking about the murder of her own son, “I don’t see how they can use our names and put stuff out like that out there”.
