‘Adolescence’ director joins forces with Ed Sheeran for ‘ONE SHOT’ music experience
In a move no one saw coming, Grammy-winning Ed Sheeran just teamed up with Emmy-winning Adolescence director Philip Barantini for a forthcoming music experience, ONE SHOT, for Netflix.
Hot on the heels of the unforgettable Primetime Emmys night this year, thanks to Adolescence, Netflix recently stepped up for a one-of-a-kind music experience with the global superstar whose existence itself has been music to every ear.
According to Tudum, this new alliance will take viewers through the vibrant and lively New York City to bring forth a musical journey they haven’t experienced before. Titled ONE SHOT with Ed Sheeran, the upcoming Netflix project comes from the coattails of Barantini, Fulwell Entertainment, and Emmy-winning producer Ben Winston.
Barantini, who made waves across the globe with his daring filmmaking technique in Adolescence by shooting each episode in one continuous take, is set to apply the format for ONE SHOT with Ed Sheeran as well. The music experience will follow Sheeran on a New York City afternoon, where he will take the streets to perform his biggest hits.
ONE SHOT with Ed Sheeran will capture those spontaneous gigs on sidewalks and subways. In fact, the ‘Perfect’ singer will also be seen interacting with his army of fans and unsuspecting passersby, making the music experience unlike anything the world has seen before.
“One singer. One city. One shot. Ed Sheeran rocks the streets of New York with his greatest hits in this groundbreaking, real-time music experience,” the official synopsis reads. And that alone is proof that ONE SHOT with Ed Sheeran will be captured in a single continuous take.
Netflix has yet to share more details on what else to expect, with the mystery surrounding the additional details still shrouded. But the streaming giant isn’t playing around with the release date of this one, knowing well that each and every Netflix subscriber will be seated to watch this surreal experience from the front row.
