We’re already excited about the holiday season, aren’t we? As unreal as it might sound, this means that we’re finally dipping our toes into December, which marks the end of what has been an extremely bizarre year. Now, with the festivities knocking on our doors, this call for a need to end this year on a well-strung and cheerful note. It is the time to step back, snug up with our loved ones, and reel in the warmth of Christmas. While we might not receive as many gifts this time around as during the other years, we’ve got just the news that will make you forget about it: Netflix. You guessed it right – new stuff incoming!
The new month brings about tons of brand new movies and television shows. With one eye firmly set on Santa Claus, we’ve got our holiday watches ready. To go along with it, many first-time contents find its place on Netflix’s shelves. Headlining them, naturally, is David Fincher’s Mank. The newest feature from the acclaimed director stars Oscar-winner Gary Oldman as legendary Hollywood screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and the drama that surrounded his work on Citizen Kane. Also leading this month is Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, the late Chadwick Boseman’s last film. Based on the play by August Wilson, Viola Davis stars as the iconic blues singer Ma Rainey, with Boseman playing her band’s trumpeter.
Netflix is also launching the long-awaited Selena: The Series, about the life of the late pop star Selena Quintanilla this month; the fourth and final season of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the de facto seasonal docuseries The Holiday Movies That Made Us.
For those craving for more holiday-themed content, there are plenty, including Home for Christmas 2 and the third season of The Great British Baking Show: Holidays. You can further spice up the holidays with all-time favourites like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, 50 First Dates, Rango, and the first three Jurassic Park films.
Lovers of The Office and The West Wing beware though, for this month will be your last chance to catch up with the fan-favourite series. That said, the Netflix repository still packs lots of lesser-known but amazing stuff that are waiting to be “discovered” by you. Don’t blame us later, you gotta do what you gotta right this month.
Here’s the comprehensive line-up of all of this month’s releases. Mark the dates!
