Guillermo del Toro’s Halloween anthology series Cabinet Of Curiosities is keeping things spooky on this week’s list, though it’s slipped down a few places to number ten. Featuring eight modern horror stories in the gothic style, the series remains one of Netflix viewers’ favourite fright-fests.
Things are similarly supernatural as we work up the list, where the second season of Manifest, in which the passengers and crew of an ill-fated airliner suddenly reappear decades after their disappearance, is holding on at number nine. Then, at number eight, we’ve got the first season of the distinctly eerie The Watcher, which has spent five weeks on-site and accumulated 18,850,000 hours of viewing time.
At number seven, Steven Moffat’s star-studded series Inside Man is still pulling in viewers. The production – which features David Tennant and Stanley Tucci, among others – is the former Doctor Who writer’s first since his BBC adaptation of Dracula and is just as darkly humorous.
Sitting at number five, Attica Locke’s From Scratch marks a shift from the mist-clad darkness to the sun-dappled landscapes of Italy, where an American Law student called Amy falls in love with Lino, a Sicilian chef. When Lino develops health issues, the two families come together in an attempt to save their relationship.
With Manifest: Season 1, Love Is Blind: Season 3 and Manifest: Season 4 at number four, number three and number two, the prized number one spot is reserved for one of Netflix’s most successful long-running series, The Crown, which is now on its fifth season. Despite being accused of inaccurately depicting the events of the 1990s by high-profile stars like Dame Judi Dench, the latest season has pulled in a dizzying 107,390,000 hours of viewing time in its first week.
