If you arrived at this week’s list of the most popular series on Netflix right now and expected to see anything other than complete domination from Stranger Things, then you are to be sadly disappointed. All four seasons of the mammoth show are in the top ten, but there are some notable surprises.
Below, we’re checking out the ten most popular series on Netflix this week, and as well as a hefty contribution from those in Hawkins, Indiana, there are some new entries and one of the worst-rated shows in the streaming platform’s history.
First thing’s first, Stranger Things still dominates the entire list, with all four seasons included in the list with a whopping 200 million hours of viewing, with the fourth season pulling in 100 million hours of viewing on its own. There can be no doubt that Eleven and the gang are leaving a seismic impact on popular culture.
However, another doff of the cap is needed for Manifest. Its first season continues to be solidly watched as it racks up its eleventh week in the top ten chart, bringing in 38 million hours of viewing in this week alone.
There are some newer additions to the list, too, Boo, bitch: Limited Series and the series adaptation of Kung-Fu Panda both land big numbers, sharing over 40 million hours between them. But there is no doubt that the biggest bittersweet victory for Netflix this week is Resident Evil.
The live adaptation of the famous game has been in the works for some time and has been hyped for even longer. However, while audiences have given over 70 million hours to the series, it has received terrible reviews from critics.
