Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and John Douglas Thompson helm new thriller ‘All the Sinners Bleed’ on Netflix

Netflix is expanding its adaptation catalogue with a brand-new thriller, All the Sinners Bleed. And the showbiz world has already grown abuzz with the names helming this whodunit, which includes Black Rabbit star Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and John Douglas Thompson.

While Netflix is never short of a thrilling cause, All the Sinners Bleed is turning up the heat in more ways than one. Although an adaptation, don’t expect this to be just another cosy crime drama akin to The Thursday Murder Club.

All the Sinners Bleed comes with a fateful twist of faith and belief. It follows the first Black Sheriff in a small Bible Belt county, who’s on a mission to chase down a serial killer after his mother’s death, who had been victimising his Black community for years in god’s name. The series is set in the American South and has a nine-episode order. It follows “Titus Crown as he tries to stop a murderer who believes they’re on a divine mission.”

The upcoming show is adapted from SA Cosby’s 2023 noir novel, which was a New York Times bestseller and a selection on former US President Barack Obama’s summer reading list.

As of now, there are only two actors who have been confirmed to appear in All the Sinners Bleed. Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù will portray Titus Crown, and John Douglas Thompson will play his father, Albert Crown. Joe Robert Cole, best known for American Crime Story and All Day and a Night, serves as a showrunner, writer, and executive producer for the series.

He will additionally direct the first and select episodes of the thriller. Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Productions, Amblin Television, and Cosby will also executive-produce All the Sinners Bleed. Higher Ground and Netflix previously joined forces for Bodkin, Leave the World Behind, Rustin, Working: What We Do All Day, and American Symphony.

For now, the production details, trailer whereabouts, and additional updates remain scarce about the project. As a result, fans will have to stay put and tuned for further updates.
